More than a strawberry farm

Great taste and value make Handasyde’s your first choice for a family outing in Albany WA

Fruitful family history

Neil Handasyde has a rich history in fruit growing. Immersed in growing since he was a child, he went out on his own in 1991, buying his first strawberry farm on Greatrex Road in King River.

In 2018, Lyn and Neil bought the current farm on Chester Pass Road. With plenty of space and an on-site shop, they knew it was something special.

Since then, Lyn and Neil have been working hard each day — creating a truly unique experience for locals and visitors to Albany WA.

What started as a strawberry farm has grown over the years. These days,  we’ve got so much on offer for our customers from Albany, the Great Southern and beyond.

Handasyde’s  child and family-friendly cafe and The Hay Shed (our spacious party room) are open seven days, offering nutritious food made from natural ingredients.

On any given day, drop in and see what’s in season:

Tastefully decorated with a modern, cosy feel, our farm features local art, stunning greenery, and lots of space to relax and enjoy a tasty treat.

Our large, partially shaded alfresco is accessible and fun for the whole family. Kids love our playground,as well as Beanie (our donkey) and Boris (our Scottish highland cow).

Free from the distractions of everyday life, Handasyde’s is the perfect place to connect with family and friends.

Thanks to the tasty, nutritious food, great value, hospitable service, and no-rush attitude, there’s something for everyone at Handasyde’s.

Sustainability and waste reduction are part of everything we do at Handasyde’s.

Lyn sources ingredients and packaging mindfully. That means she’s always on the hunt for environmentally-friendly suppliers, preferring local businesses that offer recyclable packaging and the environmental benefits of reduced transport.

Preserving and freeze drying fruit means we get the absolute most out of each harvest, and what’s left gets composted into nutrient-rich soil for next year.

As a family-owned business, caring for the earth matters to us, every day. And keeping rubbish out of landfill as much as possible will secure a brighter future for our family and yours.
